This is a living piece of Halifax's history having been established in 1810 by Henry Aaron. The great, great, great, great, grandfather of the present incumbent of the Aaron empire. Henry came to Halifax from Hanover to escape the Franco-Prussian Napoleonic wars. Initially setting up shop on Gaol Lane, then moving to Woolshops & finally, a mere 80 years ago, hunkering down in Northgate - their current location.
